The irc.furry.de User Policy

The irc service at irc.furry.de is provided free of charge. There are no access restrictions in general, anyone from anywhere in the world may connect to this server. Of course, if you live outside Germany, chances are you might want to use another YiffNet server, because the connection is likely to be faster.

We ask all our users to refrain from behaviour that might lessen the pleasure our other users get from using YiffNet. Some of us regulars have put a lot of time into YiffNet and related internet sites, and we will be extremely mad if you just come on and get obnoxious.

This holds especially, but not exclusively, for YiffNet operators. We have put a lot of time into this little pet project, and before you annoy us, please take a oment and reconsider that you aren't paying any money for using our computers, our internet links, our servers, and for the time we put into setting up YiffNet. You have no right to be on YiffNet, and we have no duty or obligation to provide you with any service.

If we decide to ban you from YiffNet permanently, that's bad luck for you! But we are all a friendly sort, and we're not very likely to ban you or kill you online unless you have really given us reason to do so.

Unacceptable Behaviour

YiffNet is a furry irc server. It is run by furries for furries. There are a few things that are usually agreed to be unacceptable among furries:

Racism, Speciesism, and Anthropocentricism:
Since furries share the common vision of a world in which not only all human races, but also all anthropomorphic species can exist together, you are advised to refrain from these. You may well find yourself jumped on by an angry crowd.
Harassment:
If you harass one of our regulars, you won't be on YiffNet for long. We furries stand up for one another pretty well.
Telling furries to "get a life", lack of appreciation:
If you do not like furries, then don't come here. It's as simple as that. If you cannot accept the fact that there are humans who dream about a world populated by beings other than humans, and who happen to find that dream interesting or even enjoyable, then don't come here.
Imposing questionable moral values:
Furries generally appreciate the contributions made to the fandom regardless of someone's way of life. You are very likely to offend many of us if you express moral, religious, or other "values" that try to depict some of our regulars as morally inferior to yourself. And yes, this includes Homophobia.

Again, folks: play it nicely. If some fool comes on YiffNet and makes one of the above mistakes, remind him friendly but firmly that such behaviour is unacceptable, and start a log file. If he or she goes on, mail the logfile to your YiffNet admin, who will take the necessary steps to get that person removed from YiffNet.

Whatever you do, don't lower yourself to their level and harass them back. The command "/ignore nickname ALL" can do wonders for one's self-composure.
