About YiffNet

The YiffNet is an IRC network for furries. IRC means International Relay Chat. It's a system for real-time communication between a huge number of users.

YiffNet, like any IRC net, has a number of channels in which furries meet to talk to each other. Channels are usually formed to discuss a certain topic or to talk to a certain group of people. On YiffNet, the channel #furry had been the first and central channel. When it became too crowded for some of us, new channels, like #pantherchat and #zoo, had been founded.

Topics, policy and people are very different from channel to channel. Some have strict rules about yiffing, techno-babble or IRC bots, and some don't. It doesn't hurt to ask.

The intentional idea was to have a network just for furries. This way it would be free of flashers, nasty spam /msges and espacially there would be no people who just don't get the idea behind furry and start to become really pushy and nasty. EfNet is full of intolerant people, and of people who seem to have less fantasy and imagination than your average sledge hammer.

The result is that on YiffNet, people might certainly argue about this and that, but nobody will ever blame you for being furry. People are generally more friendly and helpful to each other, too... furries unite!

If you want to know more about the YiffNet, some first hand experience will certainly help. Just connect your favorite IRC client to yiff.furry.de, port 6667, or to one of the other YiffNet servers.
